Formal measurement began in 2010 at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health and the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, with subsequent control-group evaluation conducted at both institutions.

Research was conducted in collaboration with the American University Department of Psychology by Eleni Rizakos, MA, Dr. Deborah Norris, PhD, and Dr. Brian T. Yates, PhD, with additional collaboration through The Mindfulness Center, Bethesda, Maryland.
